This winter, everyone is at risk of getting the flu.
Get your NHS or private flu vaccination (£20) and protect yourself and those you care for.

One shot away from a safer winter

Flu Vaccination Service

Were you aware that the flu results in 10,500 to 25,000 fatalities annually in the UK, with approximately 800,000 visits to GPs? Even with preventive measures, forgoing your yearly flu vaccination significantly heightens your risk of contracting the virus.

Avoid the hardship of dealing with severe sickness and uncomfortable symptoms such as high fever, dry coughs, and aches this winter. One annual shot not only saves you money on consultations and treatments but also spares you from severe side effects. Moreover, it reduces the likelihood of transmitting the flu to a family member with compromised immunity.

Staff very friendly, helpful and polite always provide great customer service and willing to go extra mile to help with your issues.

Janet Thompson

I think this is the best pharmacy in our local area! The staff are lovely and helpful and there is a range of services available including inoculations and travel bits and bobs together with a private area if you don’t want to discuss your ailments in front of all Broadstairs! They waste time and space on cosmetics etc just concentrating on the things you actually need from a pharmacy. Really knowledgeable staff make this without doubt the only option for a pharmacy.

Shane Graham Goldfinch

I always get my prescriptions from piermonts and never have any issues always all there very efficient and especially during these tough times when there workload is greater still no problem, best chemist I have ever used.

FAQs

Do I need to book an appointment for my flu injection?

Booking in advance secures your vaccination and saves time in queues. Walk-ins are welcome too, and our team will ensure your visit is seamless.

How long does this service take?

The process typically takes 15 minutes. After vaccination, please stay in the pharmacy for an additional 10 minutes for observation and to monitor any potential reactions.

When is the best time to get vaccinated?

Ideally, get your flu vaccine between October and November. If you missed that window, you can still receive it at any time during the winter.

Should I get vaccinated against winter flu every year?

Yes. The flu vaccine provides protection for a limited time. If you were vaccinated last year, it's crucial to renew your vaccination this year as the flu virus is not constant.

Should I take a break from working out after the flu vaccination?

Typically, you might experience minor side effects such as a sore arm, slight fever, or muscle aches. If so, taking a painkiller and getting some rest should help alleviate these symptoms.

Should I still get my flu jab if I feel unwell?

The decision depends on the severity of your condition. For severe cases, the pharmacist may reschedule your appointment, while for minor illness or if you're on antibiotics, your vaccination can proceed as planned.

Can I get a flu jab and covid jab at the same time?

Certainly! Feel free to consult with our pharmacy team for additional advice without any hesitation.

Do I have to pay for the flu jab?

You do not have to pay if you fall within the NHS defined exemption categories - see here.
